Parliament for Europe session

Members of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly and the Entity and Brčko Assemblies, gathered within the EU “Parliament for Europe” initiative, met at the EU House in Sarajevo on Friday, 27 April 2012 to discuss practical steps for making progress towards a successful EU membership application by Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During the meeting with EU officials, BiH parliamentarians focused on the development of the National Programme of the Adoption of the Acquis, which is the key document designed to secure an appropriate rate of progress for Bosnia and Herzegovina towards EU membership. The programme is not only an obligation of the BiH authorities under the Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA), it is also a necessary tool for prioritising legislative, administrative, institutional and economic reforms, and distributing responsibilities to competent authorities.
